Pneumatic clamps are actuated by compressed air. This relieves the strain on the user, particularly where frequent clamping processes are carried out. There is a wide range of pneumatic clamps on offer at norelem.
Standard pneumatic clamp
In contrast to manual clamps, a series of pneumatic clamps can be actuated simultaneously or can be closed or opened in a certain order. Single or multiple clamps can also be controlled from different locations – either manually or by machine. According to the toggle system principle, the pneumatic clamp remains closed even if the air supply fails. Moreover, air consumption is low due to the high final transmission ratio. Further advantages of the toggle system are the large opening travel, achieved by the pivoting of the clamping arm, and the optimum force and movement ratios which arise as a result.
Push-rod pneumatic clamps
Push-rod pneumatic clamps can be used as both push and pull clamps. Their sturdy construction and double-acting FESTO pneumatic cylinder ensure a long service life. Push-rod pneumatic clamps from norelem are available in three different stroke lengths.
Vertical pneumatic clamps
Vertical pneumatic clamps from norelem are available with a horizontal or vertical cylinder. They are characterised by higher holding and clamping forces (heavy-duty version). Both clamps are particularly suitable for installation into specialised machines and handling plants. Maintenance-free operation is ensured by tempered and ground bearing pins in Teflon bearings. The fastening screws on the axles are secured with LOCTITE so that they do not become loose as a result of vibrations and impacts. In addition, LOCTITE threadlockers prevent the loss of pre-load.
Pneumatic swing clamps
The pneumatic swing clamp can be used if certain workpieces must be clamped to a fixture, machine table or workbench. The swing function is designed for when the clamping points should be free to aid removal and replacement of workpieces, thereby guaranteeing an optimum workflow. The block shape of the housing offers universal fastening options so that the swing clamp can be aligned perfectly to the workpiece being clamped.
Pneumatic swing clamps from norelem are available for both right and left-swing alignments to suit the application.
As the name suggests, the mini clamp is small and lightweight. It is used primarily to aid economical machining. They can be applied to areas such as transfer lines, machine tools, fixtures or special machinery. The mini clamp enables the clamping arm to be positioned precisely and is completely self-locking, which prevents the clamp from opening as a result of the machining forces when it is in the clamped position. The toggle clamp ensures that high holding forces are achieved even when air pressure and air consumption are low. Mini clamps are maintenance-free, as they are permanently lubricated and have special bearing bushes.
norelem offers mini clamps with and without electric end position feedback.
